The Arab-Norman influence surfaces in the street plan itself, in the narrow lanes that open unexpectedly onto small piazzas. Trapani's famous Good Friday procession, the Misteri, is one of the oldest and most elaborate in Sicily, a tradition that has run for centuries and draws the entire city into its orbit each spring.
